Puffins
Sculpture and 3D Art
In year 1, we have started our new Art topic - Sculpture and 3D Art. They children have been looking at different sculptures and 3D pictures to help inspire them to make their own. The children thought carefully how they were going to, design, fold, cut and stick their pieces of card to create their 3D pictures.
PSHE - Dreams and Goal
This week we started our new PSHE Jigsaw topic of 'Dreams and Goals'. We discussed as a class what dreams and goals were and then thought about the goals we could set ourselves as a class. After this children decided on a goal they wanted to set themselves and 'locked' them in their goal treasure chest.

Lights Camel Action!
We had so much fun showing you our production of Lights Camel Action this week. We loved learning and performing the songs, wearing our outfits and being part of the nativity with year 2. We hope that you enjoyed watching it as much as we did performing it!

Road Safety Week 2024
During Road Safety Week, we learnt about the Green Cross Code and how using this can help us to stay safe when out in public and now roads. We discussed that we should always find a safe place to cross the road away from parked cars and corners and that we need to use our eyes and ears before walking across the road. We then put this to practice on our school playground by crossing the road. We finished by exploring how we could make our road safer: we added a zebra crossing and a pelican crossing to our road.

Witney Museum
On Friday, Year 1 went on our a great trip to Witney and District museum. The children were able to look at wide range of artefacts from the local area and see how Witney Blankets helped to shape the area that we live in today. The children used the tools that were used to make Witney Blankets and even had a go at weaving!
Parts and wholes
Over the last few weeks, we have been exploring parts and wholes using a range of different representations. The children investigated the different parts that make up a whole and used part-whole models, number sentences, and bar models to prove their answers.
What a fantastic Friday we have had in Puffins' class today. In the morning we used all the amazing adjectives and nouns that we have learnt this term to create some fantastic setting descriptions for our class text 'Mrs Noah's Pockets'.
In the afternoon we used our out drawing skills and knowledge of different types of line to create our own group pieces of art based on the artist Zaria Forman. We used coloured pencils, felt tips and crayons to create our images.
Please see pictures of both below.
