Music

In music we encourage children to listen to and enjoy music of different styles, and to be able to appreciate the main elements of music including rhythm, pitch and composition. Teachers use ‘Charanga’ to support their planning which is a living cloud-based resource that brings together great music, modern pedagogy and the latest educational technology. Every year, Year 5 learn to play the cello and the Year 3 children learn to play the violin.

‘Festival of Voices’. Our ‘Singing Squad’ is a weekly club open to key stage two children who participate in a range of events and performances throughout the year such as 'Festival of Voices' and a Christmas concert at Oxford town hall.

Instrumental tuition is available. However, this is an optional activity and is paid for on a termly basis by parents of participating children. We also have the option for children to join irock, an opportunity for children to play a range of rock instruments and perform as part of a band.
