Welcome to Early Years Foundation Stage

The Foundation stage is organised into two classes: two Reception classes (Kingfishers and Robins).  The number of children leaving the EYFS with a Good Level of Development has risen year on year, and we are proud of our nurturing and enriching environment.

Earlyworld

We are now working in partnership with Earlyworld to provide breakfast and after-school care in their purpose built setting on the school site.  Please contact Earlyworld on 01865 881848 for further information.  Please note: Earlyworld will only take Reception children as they have turned 4 years of age.

Admissions

Prospective families are warmly invited to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher to visit our setting – simply contact the school office.

Useful links

Here are some useful links to support home learning. If you have any questions about how best to use them please don't hesitate to ask the Reception teachers.

1. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

To access this website you will need to register as a parent then you will have access to lots of phonics activities, ebooks and guides about how to support your child with phonics.

2.https://readingeggs.co.uk/

This website is offering free 30 day access and provides levelled reading activities which adapt to your child's reading level as they complete activities. It has some good phonics activities both on line and printable. There is also a maths program which sets the correct level of work for individual children.

3.https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

We use this a lot in school. At the moment children can use it to practice PHASE 2 sounds and play any of those games. As we teach new sounds you can select these from the menus in individual games.

4.https://www.topmarks.co.uk/Search.aspx?Subject=16&AgeGroup=1

This website has lots of useful links to maths activities that can be adjusted to suit your child's ability.

5.https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/homeLearning.html#reception

This will take you to mixture of Maths and Phonics activities.

We will also be posting useful websites in Tapestry Memos as and when they link with the planned home learning activities.
