Early Years Information

A very warm welcome to Eynsham Nursery, where we provide a nurturing, happy and enriching environment in which our youngest children can learn, explore and grow.

We believe that the Early Years are some of the most important years in a child’s education, laying the foundations for future learning and development. Our dedicated and experienced Early Years team, overseen by a qualified teacher, work together to provide high-quality learning experiences that support each child’s individual needs and development, while ensuring that every child feels happy, safe and valued.

Through a wealth of stimulating, engaging and hands-on experiences, we encourage children to be curious, develop their independence, build confidence and discover the joy of learning through play and exploration.

As part of Eynsham Community Primary School, our nursery children are very much part of the wider school community. They benefit from the opportunities, facilities and experiences that being part of a primary school brings, while enjoying an Early Years environment carefully designed around their age and stage of development.

We are incredibly proud of our Early Years provision and the caring, welcoming environment we have created. We look forward to working in partnership with our families to give every child the very best start to their journey at Eynsham.

Early Years Funding Information

There are a number of funded childcare options available to families, and you may be entitled to receive help towards the cost of your child’s nursery education.

All children aged 3 and 4 years old are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education each week, from the term following their third birthday. Eligible working families may be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.

Some families may also be eligible for funded early education for their child from an earlier age, depending on their individual circumstances.

Tax-Free Childcare

We accept Tax-Free Childcare payments, which can help eligible working families with the cost of nursery and wraparound childcare.

For every £8 you pay into your online childcare account, the Government adds £2, meaning you could receive up to £2,000 per child, per year towards your childcare costs.

Tax-Free Childcare can be used towards eligible childcare costs that are not covered by your funded hours, including additional nursery sessions and eligible wraparound care.

Eligibility depends on your individual circumstances, including your child's age, your employment and your income. Parents apply for and manage Tax-Free Childcare through their Government childcare account.

OPEN MORNING FOR RECEPTION SEPTEMBER 2027

We’re delighted to invite prospective families to come and discover Eynsham Community Primary School.

Choosing the right school for your child is such an important decision, and our Open Mornings are a wonderful opportunity to see our school in action, meet our staff and children, and get a real feel for life at ECPS.

We are incredibly proud of our welcoming school community and the nurturing, exciting environment we provide for our children to learn, grow and thrive.

Our open days will take place at 9am on;

Wednesday 21st October 2026 and Thursday 4th December 2026.

Owlets Wraparound Care

We offer Owlets Wraparound Care for our nursery children, providing families with the option to extend their child’s nursery day with breakfast and after-school care in a familiar, nurturing environment.
