Term 2 October to December
All children have returned from half term full of enthusiasm and eager to learn. We have been really impressed with how ready, respectful and responsible the children are in class and in the school environment. We will resume our History based topic this term, Fire Fire! continuing our learning about the Great Fire of London in 1666. We are very excited!

Christmas Lunch – Wednesday 16th December
We enjoyed our yummy Christmas lunch today. It was great fun being served by our teachers listening to Christmas music.
Beat the Teacher Santa Run - 14/12/20
Today we raised lots of money for our school by taking part in the Beat the Teacher Santa Run. We wore Christmas accessories, donned huge smiles and had a fantastic ‘can do’ attitude. It was great fun completing as many laps of the course as possible to festive Christmas music against our teachers, including our Headteacher, Mrs Bayliss. Many congratulations to Imogen, who ran a whopping 23 laps – needless to say she beat Mrs James! A big thank you to all of the parents, families and carers who sponsored us!

One of the funniest bits was when the King Rat got slapped! – Teagan.
I liked the way they let us join in with the acting – Jody

Whole School Pantomime Rehearsals - Over the last few weeks the children have been rehearsing hard for the year 2 scene 'Christmas Eve' in the whole school nativity. The children have learnt lines, refined their dance moves and sung their hearts out. We are all so very proud of them! We thought that you would like to see some photographic build up to the nativity - enjoy!
I would like to say a big thank you to parents and carers for supporting children with the learning of lines, songs and providing costumes - thank you, Mrs James.

Retell a News Article
Today, we used a news article story map to retell and identify key features of a news article based on our Little Red Riding Hood findings in the Sports Hall. In small groups we explored the key features as we took it in turns to be the interviewer and the woodcutter.
Strange noises in the Sports Hall...
We were very excited to receive a letter from Mrs Bayliss asking us to check for strange happenings in the Sports Hall. Our findings included, ripped red material, an axe, flowers, basket of fruit and animal footprints. After much discussion we linked our findings and observations to the traditional tale, Little Red Riding Hood. Mrs Bayliss asked us to inform her of our findings, so we wrote our predictions for her to read.
