Reading

Each child has a reading book and reading record, please use the reading record to describe how your child has read to you at home. Listen, read and share stories as often as you can with your child and keep a record in their reading diary. Please use the local library and books from home as additional reading resources. When they record three reads at home within a week, they will receive a house point. School reading book and reading record must be brought to school every day because we do not have set reading days. This will allow us to have some additional quiet class reading time familiarising children with their books. We aim to read with your child once a week but will read more when opportunities arise. If your child has read their book and wishes to change it before their next read with an adult in the class, they can place their reading book and reading record book in the class ‘book change’ basket.
