🌲 Residential Adventures – What an Incredible Two Days! 🏕️

What a fantastic couple of days we've had on our residential! The children have been having an amazing time, throwing themselves into every challenge and making some wonderful memories along the way! 🌟

It's been an action-packed adventure, with children taking part in a huge range of exciting activities, including the 3G Swing, crate stacking, orienteering, team-building challenges, Jacob's Ladder, backwoods cooking, Aeroball and archery! 🏹🧗‍♂️

Throughout the last two days, we've been incredibly proud of the teamwork, resilience, independence and kindness the children have shown. Whether it's been conquering fears, trying something new, encouraging a friend or celebrating each other's achievements, they've really risen to every challenge! 💪👏

Tonight, we're heading back into the woods for a campfire before settling down for our final night. 🔥🌙

Tomorrow, the children have two final activities to enjoy before we pack up and make our way back to school. We're sure they'll have plenty of exciting stories to share when they get home!

📸 A little note about photos: We're sorry we haven't been able to share many pictures so far. The Wi-Fi here has been a little temperamental! Don't worry, though – we've been capturing lots of brilliant moments and will be uploading photos over the next week.

As we work towards writing our own prequels, we have been recapping and exploring the rules when writing speech. We made sure we were secure with our prior knowledge, before building on it with new Year 5 skills. From that, we used drama activities to develop what our characters might say. Finally, using what we had done so far, we expanded our speech by showing the emotions of our characters rather than telling the reader. Great work Year 5.
