Welcome to Early Years Foundation Stage
The EYFS is organised into three classes: one Nursery class (Owls) and two Reception classes (Kingfishers and Robins) . The number of children leaving the EYFS with a Good Level of Development has risen year on year, and we are proud of our nurturing and enriching environment.
Your child is entitled to join our Nursery class, within our Foundation Stage, at the start of the term after their third birthday. We offer full-time places; either with 15 hours universal funding and payment for the additional hours, or full-time 30 hour entitlement places. We do not require any fees paid before the children start, but would like to meet you and to give you and your child/ren chance to visit the setting.
Please use the link below to find out if you are eligible for 30 hours:
Alternatively, any parents or carers not eligible are able to top up their child’s funded 15 hours through paying the school accordingly at a cost of £4.50 per hour.
We are now working in partnership with Earlyworld to provide breakfast and after-school care in their purpose built setting on the school site. Please contact Earlyworld on 01865 881848 for further information. Please note: Earlyworld will only take Nursery children once they have turned 4 years of age.
We are very proud of the progress that nursery-aged children make with us, and have a proven track record over a number of years of ensuring children are fully school-ready for their Reception year.
If you would like to sign your child up for nursery education with us next year then please make an appointment to meet with me as soon as possible. The children learn well socially and academically involved in engaging age-appropriate experiences with reception-age children.
Prospective families are warmly invited to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher to visit our setting – simply contact the school office.
Here are some useful links to support home learning. If you have any questions about how best to use them please don't hesitate to email the Reception teachers.
To access this website you will need to register as a parent then you will have access to lots of phonics activities, ebooks and guides about how to support your child with phonics.
This website is offering free 30 day access and provides levelled reading activities which adapt to your child's reading level as they complete activities. It has some good phonics activities both on line and printable. There is also a maths program which sets the correct level of work for individual children.
We use this a lot in school. At the moment children can use it to practice PHASE 2 sounds and play any of those games. As we teach new sounds you can select these from the menus in individual games.
This website has lots of useful links to maths activities that can be adjusted to suit your child's ability.
This will take you to mixture of Maths and Phonics activities.
We will also be posting useful websites in Tapestry Memos as and when they link with the planned home learning activities.
