This week, Year 3 had a Roman Workshop. It was great fun and we learnt a lot! The workshop was split into two parts. For one part we became archaeologists...this was great because it is some of our dream jobs! We discovered lots of different artefacts, including a bone, a shoe, a perfume bottle and tesseras! We had to answer different questions about the artefacts and use our senses! For the other part of the workshop, we learnt about Roman soldiers. One person from each class got to dress as a Roman Soldier, we learnt great facts, including, the holder that the sword went into, sharpened it on the way out! We thought about how the shield represented different things; lightning was one of them which the Roman’s believed came from the Gods.
